Michael Laschet
Michael Laschet, born in 1963, began intensively occupying himself with
painting and drawing in 1981 then producing charcoal drawings with rhythm
painting as subject. The Bauhaus had a fascinating effect on the young
painter. In 1986, after several smaller exhibitions, the then 23-year-old
artist presented his meanwhile tremendously colourful acrylic paintings
to a broader public.
Professor Gerd Ullmann. was the person who encouraged the still hesitating
painter and drawer to decide for a future art profession and offered him
his co-operation.
Since then hundreds of students have been taught painting and drawing
by Michael Laschet. In a school he founded you find not only courses in
vocational training but also courses for all those interested in painting
or drawing.
To his professional stages belonged - as owner of an advertising agency
the art direction of a magazine.
As story writer and script writer of ghost and horror stories some comic´s
he published at Bastei -Lübbe´s publishing house, came out
in several European countries.
Michael Laschet also worked as author and text writer for several projects
among others for for the Pawel-Möwig publishing house (Fix and Foxi
- the oldest German comic series.)
At present he is working on a production of interactive children's books.
Here Michael Laschet, conceiving and designing of characters, creates
exciting new worlds, invents and draws figures and their universes.
